Visited yesterday for eye check up for my wife and I - what a great team all round. From initial pre-screening, to eye check up, through to the glasses selection and fitting it was a great experience. Sofiane, Ashleigh, Elouise and Bushra did a fantastic job. Very helpful, good personal knowledge and professionalism, an absolute credit to the brand. We very much look forward to visiting soon to collect the finished articles.
On July 4th I made an on-line Eye test appointment with Boots on Carmarthen road in Swansea.This morning (18 days later) I received a phone call from a Boots rep who said she was doing a pre appointment check due to COVID 19.I was asked, 1: When was my last Eye test (2 years ago) 2: Had I had my eyes tested with Boots before (yes several times), 3: Was I having any difficulty with my eyes (not really but my glasses needed renewing).She then said the Welsh Government was recommending only people with eye problems should be tested.I responded it was ridiculous that Boots would wait 24 hours before my appointment to ask these questions, I advised her Boots should have completed these questions during the online booking process.To this the rep stated she understood how frustrating it was for me but it was frustrating for her also as she had to make these phone calls...... it beggars belief it seems I am putting Boots to an inconvenience !!!!!As I am 68 years old I feel I should have an eye test every 2 years as we are always being told the eye test also provides information on your general health.I am absolutely disgusted with Boots and they have now lost a customer and also income as I was planning to spend £500+ on new glasses.

Was experiencing headaches so doctor recommended I have an eye test. I visited the New Milton branch in Hampshire. I was extremely impressed by the thoroughness and professionalism of the staff, in particular Zabir and Lewis who saw me initially and then by Ray who ensured the glasses were to my satisfaction. This is not my local branch but would drive the extra few miles should I require any more optical products or services.
Ref: Boots Opticians in MARGATE, (Westwood Cross).Deeply shocked by my experience with this branch. I am still trying to get a decent response from the complaints department. They owe me money and a HUGE apology. I wonder? But - if they do not comply, I will splash my horrid experience all over the web. They are VERY good at saying how great 'Boots' is. I have paid £240 for non-existent spectacles. No reply. No response from them. Disgusted. 'Scam-busters'? or Ombudsmen?
I've always found the staff helpful, professional and friendly. Special mention for Josh, Rebecca and optician Sara. You're all doing a fantastic job!

5* is not enough for this store and especially manager Jim. A year ago, March 2020, I was caught out of Scotland in Northern Italy just as the pandemic broke there. Owing to a mixture of quarantines, flight cancellations and closed borders, I ended up stranded for just over a year. Just before leaving Edinburgh for my ill-fated trip to Italy, I had lost my reading/occupational glasses, which were essential to my computer use. I had a test done and a new pair ordered at Boots, but unfortunately owing to a manufacturing error, they were not received in time before my travel. Once I realised that it would be an indefinite period of time before I could return, I phoned the opticians asking if there was anything they could do remotely. The original order had been cancelled owing to the pandemic, and the Princes Street branch itself was about to shut down. I spoke to the manager Jim, and having explained my predicament, he volunteered to have an emergency pair of fixed-focal length glasses made up in whatever frame he could manage. I understood he had to personally drive to a local optometrist many miles away to accomplish this, and on his own time. He did this, and even arranged a rendez-vous for my friend in Edinburgh to pick up the glasses and courier to me (I was in Prague at the time). Having struggled for several weeks to accomplish any work on the computer, when I got these and put them on, it was like a new lease on life! Jim didn't even charge me for this - glasses nor the outstanding service.Every day I put these on to work I muttered a thanks to a team that provided the kind of old fashioned, caring customer service one can only dream of in the modern world. Thanks again Jim!
Rachel Boots high St Cheltenham 3327Rachel helped me pick 2 pairs glasses today (11/03). Her knowledge and professional guidance was excellent. Even reassured me about my referral for eye pressure which I was anxious about. She explained everything in a manner I fully understood and was able to answer all my queries. Have recently visited Boots Opticians in The Mander Centre Wolverhampton. I was looked after by a lovely Optician called Imran who was absolutely charming and very knowledgable. I'd been having trouble with my vision/contact lenses for a while but he sorted the problem out and I can thoroughly recommend him so if you're thinking of using Boots Opticians he's your man!!
I've been to Boots Optitions for a few years now, but my most recent visit was incredible. I made a mistake with my choice of glasses and Marie in Fareham branch just turned my entire experience around by taking ownership of my problem, even though it was my fault. Wow. She made such an impression I needed to come back and tell her what a difference she made to me. Truly a remarkably memorable experience. Big advocate here.

My 7 year old son was treated really well by the staff. They were very kind and friendly and kept everything clean and safe. They wore gloves and masks.Coventry branch.
I have been wearing glasses for 34 years now. All have lasted until I needed a new eye test. I have dropped previous glasses, my kids have played with them all have been fine. I have had free eyecare plan glasses, glasses from a local optician and from specsavers. I have had my boots glasses 5 days and they have snapped. The plastic around lens just fractured. I was sat reading lent on my hand and they broke.Boots are sorting me a new pair out with a different frame for free which is great. That is why you get 2 instead of 1.However, I am sat wearing sellotaped glasses in the meantime till they are ready. They are cheap poor quality frames. Avoid. Will never go hear again.
